Born January 1, 1745 at Easttown Township, Pennsylvania; died December 15, 1796 near Erie, Pennsylvania, age 51.

An important figure in the American Revolution, Anthony Wayne served as General in Chief of the Army and as Commander of the Legion of the United States. Due to his bold and daring military maneuvers, he was given the title of "Mad". Today, numerous cities/towns and counties are named in honor of General "Mad" Anthony Wayne.
