An historic photo of Abraham Lincoln at his home in Springfield, Illinois, taken by photographer John Adams Whipple during 1860 while Lincoln was a candidate for president. Lincoln can be seen at the corner of the house with two of his sons, Willie and Tad. See the photo below for an enlarged view of Lincoln and his sons.
The Lincoln home located in his hometown of Springfield, Illinois still has the same appearance and has been preserved to appear as it did when the Lincoln family was living here. The U. S. National Park Service manages the care of the home and the home is open for tours. The Lincoln home is located not far from the Oak Ridge Cemetery where Lincoln is buried.
