Samuel Wilson (deceased), farmer, and son of John and Anne (Meek) Wilson, was born in Sumner County, Tenn., about 1800. He was one of eight children, all of whom are dead. The father was born in North Carolina and came to Sumner County at an early age, locating on a farm where our subject was born. He remained there until his death. Seago), Mary Jane (wife of Samuel Thornhill), Richard, S. Frank and three children, deceased. At the time of his death our subject owned 500 acres of good land and was a very successful farmer. He was a Democrat and a good citizen. Mary Jane, Melissa, James and Frank are church members. The first and last named are members of the Old School Presbyterian Church.
