M. F. Chenault, one of the most successful young farmers of Sumner County, residing in the First District, is a son of David and Louisa (Quisenberry) Chenault; was born in Sumner County in 1856, being the thirteenth child of a family of fourteen children, nine sons and four daughters living. He was raised at home and received his education at Rural Academy and at Gallatin. When he attained his majority he commenced farming for himself and has proved that he has a practical knowledge of the business by his marked success. He owns 150 acres of valuable land in one of the most fertile sections of the county, ten miles northeast of Gallatin. Politically Mr. Chenault is an ardent Democrat, and his first presidential vote was for Gen. Hancock, in 1880. Mr. Chenault contributes liberally to the support of all educational and religious, enterprises, and is exceedingly popular in his county.
