W. T. Walker, was born in Dyer County, in 1851, and was one of six children. His grandparents were Buckley Walker and Mary (Thornton) Walker; his parents, G. W. and Mary J. Walker. G. W. Walker was born in Overton County, Tenn., July 12, 1817, and is now living in the Second District of Dyer County, an industrious, quiet man; his wife was a daughter of David Parrish, born in Dyer County, in December, 1831. W. T. Walker, was raised at home, and received his education at the college in Friendship, Tenn. July 25, 1877, he married Miss B. E. (daughter of T. W. and E. E. Jones). Mrs. Walker was born in Dyer County, in 1857, and by their marriage they had three children: Lizzie, Susie and Kate. Soon after his marriage, Mr. Walker located at his present home, situated seven miles southwest of Dyersburg, owning in the home place, 300 acres of finely improved land. He has always been a persevering, energetic man, never neglecting any work that would contribute to his success, in a business way, and cheerfully responds to all demands made upon him for laudable public enterprises. He is a Democrat, and with his wife belongs to the Baptist Church. They are both very popular in the district they live in, and well known all over the county.
