HENRY FRICKE, gardener; post office Carrick, was born Feb. 26, 1843, in Amt Aucte, Hanover, Germany, son of C. Fricke and Dorothea (Morhof) Fricke, also natives of the above-named place. They came to America in 1870, and settled in Allegheny county. They were members of the Lutheran Church; had eleven children, of whom only three are now living: Mrs. Sophia Tilman, Henry and Ferdinand. The parents died here. Our subject was educated in Germany, and, coming to America in 1868, was a huckster for sixteen years, and very successful. He now owns a farm of twenty-five acres, also property in town, and is a self-made man in every respect. His wife is Louise Eiseberg, an old schoolmate of his, and they have two children: Willie J. and Maggie. Mr. and Mrs. Fricke are members of the Lutheran Church, in which he has filled several offices; he is a republican.
