ERNEST FREDERICK, farmer, post office Glenshaw, was born Aug. 1, 1840, in Kurhessen, Germany. At the age of two years he came to America with his mother and stepfather, and has since lived in Shaler township. He worked eight years for John Herron; subsequently he enlisted for three years in Co. E, 63d P. V. I. He returned after one year’s service, and has since then been a farmer. He married Emma, daughter of Thomas Douglas, an old settler of Lawrenceville; she was born in this county, and is the mother of eight children: Mary, Maggie, Hattie, Sadie, Frank, Florence, Thomas and James. Politically Mr. Frederick is a republican.
