ENOCH T. HOLT, foreman National Tube-works company, McKeesport, is a native of Baltimore, Md., where he was reared, educated, and learned the machinist’s trade in the shops of Poole & Hunt. He afterward worked as journeyman in Philadelphia and Reading fourteen months, and in 1852 located in Pittsburgh. He worked nine years in the machine-shops of the P. R. R. Co., and for years held the position of foreman in their roundhouse. In 1865 he located in McKeesport, where he was manager of the Pittsburgh & McKeesport Car and Locomotive works for eleven years. During the years 1878, 1879 and 1880 he was employed in the foundry of R. J. May & Co., of McKeesport, and eight months was employed in Scottdale. In 1881 he entered the employ of the National Tube-works company as machinist, in which capacity he served for two years. He was then appointed foreman of the boiler-shop, which position he has since filled.
