JAMES P. BOOTHY, farmer, P. O. New Hope, was born in Scott Township, December 24, 1859; his parents were Collins and Lydia A. (Wardlow) Boothy, natives of Scott Township, of English descent. Our subject was schooled in the district schools and has adopted the occupation of farming, which he has successfully followed, being the owner of 126 acres of land. He was married to Melissa Laycock in 1882. They are both members of the Christian Church, and he is a Democrat.
