In 1874 he came to Missouri, and worked at farming near Verona until 1878, when he started for Prescott, Ariz., and went from there to Albuquerque, N. Mex., where he spent eighteen months; thence to Silver Cliff, Colo., and finally to Cabool, Mo., where he has since remained. He was married at Verona, Mo., to Miss Anna Gustafson, a native of Sweden, who came to America in 1872. To this marriage were born four sons and one daughter: Albert, Carl, Edward, Ellen, Dora and John William.
