Felix Marion Brown was born in Sullivan County, Mo., July 25, 1852, and is the son of Aaron and Elizabeth Catherine (Morrison) Brown, natives of Greene County, Tenn., who, after settling in Sullivan County, Mo., returned to their Tennessee home. The father died in Alabama, while on their way to Tennessee. Felix M. was reared in Tennessee, and at the age of twenty-one came to Newton County, Mo. He spent five years in traveling over Arkansas, Indian Territory, Kansas and Missouri, finally settling in the last named State, and purchasing property in 1879. He was here married to Miss Elizabeth Ann Woodman, daughter of Thomas J. and Rebecca Woodman, the father of New York stock and the mother from England. The fruit of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Brown has been one son and two daughters, named as follows: Rufus Elmer, Ida May and Ethel. Mr. Brown is a member of, and an officer in, the Home Farmers’ Alliance, and he and family attend worship at churches of all denominations. He owns a well-improved farm, and is industrious and prosperous.
