Below is a family biography included in The History of Newton County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1888.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Charles T. Clark, of the firm of Clark & Armstrong, dealers in drugs, medicines, paints, oils, etc., at Neosho, Mo., was born in Bentonville, Benton Co., Ark., January 12, 1851. His father, James W., was born in Tennessee, and was an early settler of Arkansas. He was a harness and saddle maker by trade. The mother, whose maiden name was Jane M. Dickson, was a native of Tennessee, and an early settler of Arkansas. Her father, John B. Dickson, gave the name to Pea Ridge in that locality. Their family consisted of eight children. Charles T., the third son, was reared and educated in his native State; taught school for some time, and then entered the drug business and prepared himself for that line of trade. He came to Newton in 1880, and clerked for about three years. In 1883 he engaged in business with H. C. Armstrong (now deceased), and has since conducted the enterprise under the same name. He is a good business man, and has an excellent trade. In May, 1882, he married Miss Pet Price, a native of Warsaw, Ill., and a daughter of Judge W. I. Price. This union has resulted in the birth of two children, Helen and Fair.
