William Glynn, farmer, and brother of Mrs. Moore, was born in Henry County, Tenn., March 24, 1859, and is the son of Michael and Alice (Reynolds) Glynn, natives of County Galway, Ireland, where they were married, and in 1849 immigrated to America. The father worked on the construction of the M. C. & S. C. Railroad through Tennessee, and afterward moved to Illinois, thence to Iowa, and from there to St. Joseph, Mo., with the intention of buying land, but in 1871 he came on to Laclede County, Mo., where he bought his present farm, consisting of 160 acres. He moved his family on this land in 1873, and is still living there. They have seventy-five acres under cultivation, and all under fence, with good buildings, etc. Mr. Glynn is the father of four children: Mary, wife of the subject of this sketch; William, Thomas and John. The mother died September 22, 1882. William Glynn was but fourteen years of age when he came to this country, and here he received his education. He has worked hard to assist his father in clearing his land, and is a bright young man. He now owns the farm, and is now directing his attention principally to the raising of wheat, at which he has been quite successful. He was married in October, 1888, to Miss Mary Plunkett, a native of Rolla, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Glynn are members of the Catholic Church.
