Below is a family biography included in the book, The History of Clark County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1887.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Franklin A. Clark, a first-class citizen of Clark County, Mo., was born in the State of Massachusetts in the year 1841, and came to Clark County, Mo., with his parents in 1853. In 1858 he located upon his farm, which consists of 100 acres of as good land as is to be found in Clark County. In 1869 he led to the hymenial altar Miss Elenor R. Robb, of Illinois. She was born in the Keystone State in 1846, and by her union with our subject became the mother of six children, named as follows: Edwin Augustus, born October 11, 1870; Benjamin Robb, born June 5, 1874, and died November 5, 1875; James Albert, born August 30, 1876; Thomas Irving, born December 26, 1878; Walter Luther, born June 22, 1884; and Franklin Rice, born June 4, 1884. Our subject is successfully engaged in agricultural pursuits, and is also engaged in the raising of livestock. He is a Republican in his political views, and he and his wife are members of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is the son of Adison and Mary (Clark) Clark. Mrs. Clark was the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Ferguson) Robb, both of whom were natives of Westmoreland County, Penn., and of Irish lineage.
