Pattrick Wallace, an enterprising farmer of Barry County, was born in County Longford, Ireland, about 1843. He was reared in his native land, remaining there until 1863, when he came to America. Landing in New York City, he proceeded to Vermont, where he was employed in marble works. He continued at this occupation until he came to Barry County in 1875. He there located on a farm on Capps’ Creek, near the Newton County line, and has since been very successfully engaged in agricultural pursuits. He has good land and has never failed to raise a good crop. Mr. Wallace is well pleased with his adopted country, and in politics is a Democrat. On February 5, 1874, he was united in marriage in Vermont with Maria Healy. She is also a native of Ireland, and was born in County Meath on April 10, 1855. Their union has been blessed by the birth of six children: John, Thomas, Mary, Annie, Patrick E. and Watler Leo.
