Below is a family biography included in the book, The History of Adair County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1888.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. Albert M. Wilkins, farmer and stock dealer, was born in Lawrence County, Penn., December 3, 1846, and is the son of J. C. and Mary (Sample) Wilkins, natives of Pennsylvania. The father died in 1854, and the family moved to Iowa in 1856, and located at Keokuk. Our subject grew to manhood on the farm in Lee County, and in 1874 came to Adair County. He bought his present home in 1880. The estate consists of 340 acres, mostly in the Chariton bottoms; 280 acres are in cultivation and well improved. Mr. Wilkins is also engaged in feeding and shipping stock and in raising colts.
