THOMAS E. DODGE was born October 1, 1849, in Clinton, Hickman County. He is a son of I. R. and M. F. (Sublett) Dodge. The father was born in Connecticut, and reared in Long Island, N. Y. He came to Clinton in 1830, and here he remained until his death, which occurred in 1865, at the age of fifty-five years. The mother was born in Westport, Ky., and died in Clinton, in 1867, aged fifty years. At the age of twenty, Mr. Dodge entered a store as clerk and since that time has been engaged in merchandising.
