RICHARD D. ROPER was born July 28, 1852, in Fulton County, Ky., where he has always resided. He is the son of John Roper, who was born in 1817, in Woodford County, Ky., removed to Fulton County in 1827, where he died in 1860. He was the son of Joseph Roper, of Virginia, who died in 1836. Subject’s mother is Nancy D., daughter of Benjamin and Nannie (Vincent) Easley, of this place. To herself and husband were born subject, Cornelia E. (Thomas) and John W. The family enjoyed the benefits of good schools, and are readers of good books and papers. Our subject is a farmer by profession, and is engaged successfully in cultivating the home farm. His mother is a member of the Methodist Church.
