Below is a family biography from the book, History of Kentucky, Edition 1 by J. H. Battle, W. H. Perrin and G. C. Kniffin and published by F. A. Battey Publishing Company in 1885.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. CORNELIUS F. HANBERY was born on the place where he now resides, in Fulton County, Ky., June 4, 1837. His father, Cornelius W. Hanbery, a native of Norfolk County, Va., was born in 1800; removed to Christian County, Ky., in 1811, and to Fulton County in 1826, where he died in 1872. He was the son of Job Hanbery, of Virginia, who died in 1810. Cornelius W. married Martha, daughter of Charles Hodges, of Virginia. She was born in 1800, and has been living on this place since 1826. To her and husband were born Job, Margaret R., Martha E. (Cloyes), Thomas P. and our subject. In youth subject received a good English education, and engaged in teaching for some time. He has never married, and is living with his mother and sisters on the old family homestead. He is a farmer, owning 300 acres of valuable land in a good state of cultivation. He is a member of the Masonic fraternity, a Methodist and a Democrat.
