D. C. POINTS was born in Grant County, Ky., eight miles north of Williamstown, September 29, 1860, and is the fourteenth of a family of sixteen born to William and Margaret (Franks) Points. William Points was born in Grant County, near Mount Zion, March 18, 1814. He is a well-to-do farmer and stock raiser. He has the largest herd of Shorthorn cattle in the State of Kentucky, and in this herd, D. C. Points is a partner with his father. William Points represented Grant County in the Legislature from 1879 to 1882. His last race was against O. P. Hogan, and was very close on account of Mr. Hogan being an independent candidate, and Mr. Points the nominee of the Democratic party. William Points has been president of the Grant County Deposit Bank since 1882. He is a son of Luke Points, who was killed by lightning. Mrs. Margaret (Franks) Points was born at Mount Zion, and is a daughter of William and Nancy (Webster) Franks. Of the sixteen children born to William and Margaret Points eight are living, viz.: J. T., Daniel, Mattie, William, Susie, Rosie, D. C., Hulda and Dora. D. C. Points was reared on a farm, educated at Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky., and graduated as B. S. June 14, 1885. For a short time he attended a law school at St. Louis, Mo., but on account of ill health was compelled to return home. He was admitted to the bar May 27, 1886, formed a partnership with Judge J. H. Westover in 1886, the firm name being Westover & Points. Mr. Points is a member of the Centurion Lodge, No. 100, located at Williamstown, Ky., and also belongs to the I. O. G. T. He is, politically, a Democrat, and a strict member of the Baptist Church. He was married to Clara Cunningham September 21, 1887.
