These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. W. H. WAGONER was born in Campbell County, Ky., September 19, 1839, and is a son of Conrad W. and Frances (Riggall) Wagoner, natives, respectively, of Pennsylvania and Campbell County, Ky., who were members of the Presbyterian Church. W. H. Wagoner was reared on the farm, and educated in the common schools of Campbell County. He remained on the farm until twenty-three years of age, when in 1866 he was appointed deputy county assessor, and in 1870 assistant United States marshal. In 1873 he was clerk of Alexandria, and in 1875 was elected police judge of said town. In September, 1878, he was appointed deputy county clerk, and in 1881 was made deputy of the Campbell Circuit Chancery and Criminal Courts, which latter positions he still holds. He has been identified with the progress and growth of Alexandria in many ways, is a genial gentleman, and a faithful officer. Mr. Wagoner has never married.
