SPAIN, JOHN Q., farmer and stock raiser and buyer, Sec. 31: P. O. Palmyra; born in the State of Iowa, in the year 1850, and was principally raised in this county, having come to it in 1852 with his parents: he was born in Van Buren county; he came to his present home in the spring of 1879, which consists of 160 acres; he was married in this county in 1871, to Miss M. A. Pendry, of this State; they have by this union, one son and one daughter, Robert T. and Nellie; they have lost one.
