SHETTERLY, REV. B. F., P. O. Hartford; the subject of this sketch, was born in Indiana, in 1836, and was raised there till fifteen years of age, when he came to this county with his parents, in 1851; he was raised on a farm, and received his early education and training at Hartford, and in 1868, was licensed to preach, and entered the itinerancy in 1875; was married August 20, 1856, to Miss Rebecca Wellons, of Kentucky; they have a family of four children: Wm. L, Jemima B., Clarence G., and Lewis E.; he owns a little farm of 40 acres in section 18; he enlisted in the late rebellion, in Co. B, 34th Iowa Infantry, August 12, 1862, and served three years; his present charge is at Pleasantville, Marion county.
