EMBREE, AMOS, blacksmith; was born in Vermillion county, Illinois, in 1834, and was raised there until sixteen years of age, when he removed with his parents to this county in October, 1850; he learned the trade of blacksmith, and has worked at it since that time, and has worked at the business in this county longer than anyone in the county; he married Miss Rebecca Stiles, January 8, 1863; she was born in Fayette county, Indiana; their family consists of three children: Edward, Frank and Lizzie; he started out for himself without funds or favor, and has by industry, honesty and economy acquired a competency, and stands among the respected men of the town.
