A vintage postcard view of the East side of the square of Butler, Missouri. The large building at left is the Farmers Bank of Bates County. The third building is signed Sam Levy. An early auto in front of the bank joins horse drawn vehicles on the dirt street. This postcard is not postmarked but would date from the early 1900's.

A second view from a differant angle of the same street and buildings. Note the street is now paved with bricks. This postcard is postmarked in 1908.

Butler is the county seat of Bates County, Missouri.
