THOMAS C. DOUGLASS, farmer, post office Boston, is the eldest son of Col. William Douglass, and born on the homestead which he now owns, in 1838, and received the benefit of the public schools of that period. In 1859 he married Marinda A., daughter of James and Evaline (West) Harrison, of this township. They have nine children living: Margaret E. (wife of David Coats, of Boston), Mrs. F. (wife of Philip D. Douglass, of Elizabeth township), William C., Myrtle B., Jennie E., Thomas H., Daisy B., Alice F. and Kate M. (at home). Mr. Douglass has been assessor of his township three terms. He is a member of Youghiogheny Valley Lodge, No. 555, I. O. O. F.; Rankin Post, No. 127, G. A. R., and Castle No. 81, A. O. K. M. C. Mr. and Mrs. Douglass are members of Mt.
