In 1843 he was married to Mary, daughter of James and Jane Penny, of Versailles township, who died in 1848, leaving one child — Charles A., of Canton, Ohio. Mr. Laughlin next married, in 1851, Jane, daughter of William and Lydia Robinson, of Westmoreland county. They have two children — Eva (Mrs. George Weddell, of Elizabeth township), and Joseph A., who is now in Colorado.
