J. H. Robinett, of the general mercantile firm of I. L. Hart & Co., of Norwood, Mo., was born on the 3d of August, 1861, and is a son of Judge J. H. Robinett, a short history of whom is given in the sketch of Nancy Robinett. Our subject received a high-school education, and completed his business course in the Eastman National Business College at Poughkeepsie, N. Y., and has a life membership in the same. He returned to Wright County, Mo., in 1882, and farmed one year, after which he engaged in the mercantile business with C. Lehman & Co., at Norwood. After being associated with that firm for about one and a half years, he withdrew, and went to Mountain Grove, where he was occupied in business for two years. His eyes had been troubling him for some time, and one year was then spent in having them treated. He was married to Miss Sarah N. Lee, who was born in Wright County in 1855, and their union has resulted in the birth of four children: Mabel, Oliver L., Annie and Nena. Mr. Robinett is one of the rising young men of Wright County, and is a shrewd and successful business man. He is a Republican in politics, and belongs to the A. F. & A. M. fraternity.
