Thomas E. Boone, a farmer and stock raiser of Elk River Township, McDonald Co., Mo., was born In Franklin County, Ark., on April 14, 1853. He is a son of Nicholas Boone, of Cherokee County, Kan. The latter is a native of Alabama, who in 1845 settled in Arkansas. During the war the family removed to Kansas for safety, but they did not escape being plundered by roving bands of marauders. In the spring of 1866 they came to Lawrence County, Mo., but returned to Kansas the following fall. In 1867 they removed to Arkansas, and for several years afterward they resided alternately in Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri. Thomas E. Boone has traveled extensively through Texas, Arkansas, Indian Territory and Kansas. In 1882 he located in McDonald County, where he has since resided. On December 18, 1883, he was united in marriage with Elsie A. Manning, a daughter of the late George W. Manning, of Prairie Township, McDonald County. To Mr. and Mrs. Boone has been born one child, Cora Elender.
