Below is a family biography included in The History of McDonald County, Missouri published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1888.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. John W. Fullerton is a son of Jesse H. Fullerton, a native of Kentucky, who, when a boy, was brought by his father, John M. Fullerton, to Jasper County, then a part of Greene County, Mo. After his marriage Jesse H. Fullerton located on a farm in Jasper County, and it was here that he reared his family. John W. Fullerton was born in Jasper County on September 9, 1847, and received a fair education in the common schools. After the death of his father he engaged in farming. For five years he worked in the lead mines near Sarcoxie, Mo., and in August, 1881, he came to McDonald County, locating where he now resides. He owns a farm of eighty acres, which he has since cultivated, in connection with which he has worked at the carpenter’s trade. On November 21, 1867, he was united in marriage with Martha E. Cagle, a daughter of Edwin C. Cagle, who is now deceased. To Mr. and Mrs. Fullerton have been born seven children, six of whom are living. They are Clara E., Edwin H., Olla A., Mary E., William F. and John A. Mr. Fullerton is a well respected citizen, and is the present postmaster at Cyclone Post-office. Both he and wife are zealous Christians, and are members of the Freewill Baptist Church.
