Battey Publishing Company in 1885.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. RICHARD C. PRATHER, Fulton County, was born December 25, 1818, in Jefferson County, Ky., where he was reared and resided until 1840, when he settled on the place where he now resides, in Fulton County, Ky. His father, Thomas Prather, a soldier with Jackson at New Orleans, was born in 1795, in Jefferson County, Ky., where he died in 1843. He was the son of Capt. Basil Prather, a Revolutionary soldier of Morgan’s command and a native of Maryland. He was among the first settlers in Kentucky.
