DAUGHERTY, D. C., attorney at law and real estate agent; born in Crawfordsville, Ind.; came to Keokuk in 1841; engaged in mercantile business about fifteen years; three years in present business. He served two years as Alderman of the Second Ward. Captain Daugherty raised Co. D, 10th Mo. V. I.; nearly all the men were enlisted in Iowa, but as the quota of Iowa was filled, his company entered a Missouri regiment; mustered in July 25, 1861; served until September, 1864; the Captain was wounded twice, but has never applied for a pension.
