DINGMAN, BARNEY, farmer, Sec. 18; P. O. St. Paul; son of Garret Dingman, who was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1800, and, soon after becoming of age, emigrated to America, and afterward became a resident of Lee Co., where he for several years engaged as a farm laborer, and married Anna Mary Shutte; they had four children, of but two are living; the subject of this was the second, born in Marion Tp., in 1842, and married Maggie, daughter of Barney Holtcamp; she was born in West Point in January, 1855; they settled in Marion Tp. until 1878, when he purchased his present place of residence, consisting of 104 acres of land, valued at $40 per acre; they have four children – Barney, born Jan. 7, 1875; Harmon, Jan. 4 1877, and Katie and Lizzie in September, 1878.
