Below is a family biography from the book,  The History of Crawford County, Arkansas published by Goodspeed Publishing Company in 1889.  These biographies are valuable for genealogy research in discovering missing ancestors or filling in the details of a family tree. William R. Daniel, of the grocery firm of Reed & Daniel, was born in Hempstead County, Ark., in 1864, and is a son of John S. and Kate M. (Bronaugh) Daniel [see sketch of Thomas L. Daniel]. Mr. Daniel’s early life was spent upon a farm, and he received an education which helped make him a good business man in after life. In October, 1887, he married Miss Lulu Brown, daughter of William Brown, and a native of Illinois. Mr. Daniel is one of the enterprising young men of Van Buren, is a stockholder in the Van Buren Ice and Coal Company, and is held in general esteem. In politics he is a Democrat.
