Dick P. Wasson, dealer in general merchandise at Robinson, Ark., was born in Franklin County, Ark., January 13, 1854, but was reared and educated in Washington County, At the age of twenty-two years (1876) he was married to Miss Tennessee Terry, a native of Washington County, Ark., born in 1857, and a daughter of Thomas W. and Elizabeth (McGill) Terry, both of whom were born in Tennessee. The father was a farmer, a Mason, and died in Washington County, Ark. His widow still survives him. Just before his marriage Mr. Wasson engaged in the mercantile business at Springtown, Ark., in partnership with his brother, W. D. Wasson, and from the beginning made the business a success. In 1885 he removed to Robinson, where he has since resided and where he has, by industry and good management, built up a good trade. He owns the best store in the town and carries a stock of goods valued at $4,000, and, besides this property, owns two good farms, one in Washington County worth $1,600, and one in Benton County worth $1,200. His marriage was blessed in the birth of five children, three of whom are living: Sarah Connie, Lula Esther and Clifford Marvin. Mr. Wasson is a Mason, and he and family attend the Methodist Episcopal Church, South.
