An historic photo view of Washington Avenue, Lansing Michigan. Note the numerous horse drawn vehicles and street cars. Signs that can be read include: Hotel Butler; Hotel Butler Bar - Budweiser; Meat Market; Whitmore & Rogers; Beasley & Weils; A. M. Donsereaux; Hotel Downey; Furniture. Banners on the first street car and also draped over the end of the street read "Races". The first horse drawn delivery wagon at left reads: Lawrence and Sons, Wholesale Bakers, 213-223 Grand St.
